About this course:

The Whisky Ambassador program is the globally accredited Scotch Whisky training course.

Designed both for the Licensed trade and those seeking a comprehensive grasp of Scotch, the course gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to talk to customers about Scotland’s national drink, furthermore improving customer experience and exponentially increasing sales of Scotland in a glass.

By providing staff with this expertise, the customer experience is enhanced, ultimately leading to an increase in sales revenue.

 

Course objective:

 

The candidate will:

  • Understand why Whisky is unique, and the production areas in Scotland.
  • Be able to provide appropriate service for Whiskies.
  • Gain knowledge and skills to confidently recommend, sell and up-sell Whiskies.

The Whisky Ambassador 1 Day Program covers:

  • Whisky by Numbers
  • The Basics – History, Geography, Production
  • Glassware, Presentation and Sales
  • Nosing and Tasting
  • Drink Less. Drink Better
  • Mixers and Cocktails
  • Other World Whiskies

  • Professionals, Service, Executive staffs from F&B establishments, Hotels & Hospitality industries retailers / distributors / importers / exporters dealing with wine & spirits
  • Individuals with keen interest in whiskies
  • Individuals seeking a career in the F&B, wines & spirits and retail industries

 

Duration:

 

7 hours (Same day examination)

 

Course assessment:

 

  •  30 multiple-choice questions
  • Blind tasting of 4 Whiskies

Candidate must achieve a minimum of 21 questions and 2 whiskies correct in 45 minutes.

 

Entry Requirements:

 

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
You must be of legal drinking age to participate in any alcohol tasting.

 

Certification:

 

Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin from The Whisky Ambassador will be awarded.
